Christmas Mission to Mexico 2010Christmas Mission to Mexico December 2010

Praise God from whom all blessings flow! I was so humbled by the overwhelming response from all who participated in GMSM’s shoe drive. Just like the blankets last year, I was beginning to wonder if I had set the bar to high. As God continued to supply the resources for the shoes, I soon realized that maybe we did not set the bar high enough. God provided what we prayed for. As weak as I can be at times, I know that He would have provided what would bring glory to Him no matter how many pairs of shoes we wanted to take to Mexico. You Helped Feed Hungry Orphans in Haiti this Week

GMSM Food Mission in HaitiToday, Pastor Harry delivered food to two orphanages in Haiti.  These offerings of beans, rice, pasta and cooking oil were not just “bonus” meals for the orphans; these orphanages were desperately in short supply of food for the children.  Give Me Shelter Ministries – our contributors – bought $500 worth of food for the orphans that will feed dozens of children for weeks.  We can’t thank you enough for your continued support to be able to provide services for the needy in the name of Christ.

Spend Christmas in Mexico!

Update 12/12/10 – Unfortunately this trip has been cancelled for volunteers.  Kenny will still go to Mexico to deliver the 1000 pairs of shoes, but it is too dangerous down there with the drug gang violence to take volunteers.  Please keep Kenny and his family in your prayers as he makes the trip.

The volunteers of Give Me Shelter Ministries and First Baptist Church, Ft. Walton Beach,  leave FWB Christmas night at midnight. Would you like to join us to celebrate Christmas in Mexico and help us deliver the shoes to the children and families?

We’ll arrive in Laredo Texas  the 26th. We will be staying at Primera Iglesia Bautista Church stateside; we will travel back and forth across the border each day. We will deliver the shoes and food at two locations: Pastor Felipe’s church and Pancho Villa colonia.  We will be in the field the 27th and 28th,  leave Laredo mid morning on the 29th and spend that night in Houston.  We will get up early the morning of the 30th and head to FWB.

The cost is 90.00 per person. Each person is responsible for meals to Mexico and back to FWB. The 90.00 covers all transportation and meals while in Texas and Mexico and the cost of the hotel room in Houston.

Anyone interested should contact Kenny via email or 850-496-7398.

Praise God from whom all blessings flow! Once again I head to what is fast becoming one of two homes away from home, Haiti and the other Mexico. I am traveling again with my childhood friend and fellow surfer Dale Winslette. He is accompanying me to Z’Orange to help with the mission house being constructed by Truth Evangelistic Ministries.   Continue reading “Report from Recent Haiti Mission”

Please Pray for Pastor Felipe

Pastor Felipe Hernandezand his family.  His mother passed away this week and members of his family must travel down dangerous roads to attend the funeral.  It is dangerous to travel in the areas around Nuevo Laredo due to the drug gang violence.  Please keep the Hernandez family in your prayers.
