Kenny Phillips – Founder and Executive Director

Kenny Phillips

Kenny was born in Montgomery, Alabama on April 30, 1958 and has been a resident of Fort Walton Beach and a member of First Baptist Church FWB since 1962, when his parents moved to the area.

When Kenny was 12 years old he received Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.

Kenny is an ordained deacon in his church and on November 11, 2007, Kenny was commissioned as a missionary out of First Baptist Church, Fort Walton Beach.

Kenny has worked with the youth and been a Sunday school teacher for the past several years at FBC. He leads a Bible study on Sunday nights for the homeless in the Fort Walton Beach area.

In the year 2000 Kenny was called to the mission field and has been involved in various mission projects in the U.S. and other countries.

Kenny and his wife Kim have been married 25 years. They have three daughters: Jessica, Rachel, Lydia and one granddaughter Sofia.

Kenny graduated form Fort Walton Beach High School in 1976 and took college courses at Okaloosa Walton Community College. For the last 28 years Kenny has owned and operated a small painting and carpentry business in Fort Walton Beach, Florida.

Kenny has been an avid surfer since the age of 13 and is still active in the sport today.

Kirk was introduced to Give Me Shelter Ministries by his sister, Kim Boutwell, who served with Kenny and Ft. Walton Beach First Baptist Church on their mission in 2007 to Nuevo Laredo, MX.

Kirk helps Give Me Shelter Ministries with his marketing skills — website, email, brochures… any kind of communication to help spread this mission for Christ.
